Spindasol SB3 is a fining agent consisting of amorphous silicon dioxide with an optimised surface area and particle size to maximize the adsorption of suspended yeast cells and haze-forming proteins. The silica sol particles carry a specific charge that binds to these impurities, forming larger aggregates that rapidly sediment to the bottom of the tank. It improves beer clarity and filterability (shorter and more efficient runs) as well as colloidal stability, leading to a longer shelf life and consistent quality in the finished product.
